My students love Spheros! Spheros are robot balls controlled by the Sphero app on a tablet or smartphone. You can freely control the balls movement with controls in the app or you can
program the Sphero to move a certain speed, distance, and direction. You can also program the Sphero to change color as it moves.
I started using the Spheros at the beginning of the 2015 school year. All students start out learning how to move and control aSphero. I then set up ramps and cones for the students to show off their skills. By the end of last year, students were programming the Spheros to 'draw' shapes on the floor, travel a certain distance, follow tracks on the floor, and to change color each time it turned. The students enjoy the Spheros so much that even the teachers got in on the action.
